For Supervisors In Interactive Video activities, you prepare a base video and associate questions with points in its playback. Stop markers define when the video should stop to present questions to participants. This format can support understanding a sign language narrative, with questions related to specific sections. Interactive video activity example Plan the interactions to check information or relationships relevant to the learning objective.
The illustrated workflow belongs to Reception activities. Some screens retain the Multiple Choice label but show the base video, markers and different question types. On this page, follow the Base video and Interactive Questions features. The screenshots are in English; the controls are explained throughout the page.

Plan the video and interaction points

Choose a video that can be understood in sequence and identify where you want to insert questions. Place each stop after the information needed to answer. For example, after a section in which someone describes a journey, you can insert a stop and ask which means of transport was mentioned. This example guides planning; it does not interpret the signing in the screenshot videos.

Create the activity and questions

Start the activity and open the summary

Enter the Space, open Assessment Activities and start creating an Interactive Video activity in the Reception workflow.Check the Space, complete the name and instructions in Description and review the status. Explain that questions will appear throughout the video.Open Questions Summary. The introduction video is optional. The Base video section contains Add Base Video.
Summary with Add Base Video and Interactive Questions and Evaluation Settings controls disabled before the base video is entered.

Initial summary: optional introduction and adding the base video.

On the initial screen, Add Question and Evaluation Settings are disabled. Enter the base video first to continue.

Upload or record the base video

Click Add Base Video. In the form, use Upload or Record to prepare the material that will receive the interactions.
Base video form with Upload and Record, video preview, 100 MB limit and Display video only once.

Base video: upload or recording and one-time playback option.

Check the preview and the limit shown in the field. The example indicates 100 MB.Review Display video only once. Enable the restriction only when it forms part of the task and explain this condition to participants.Complete setup using the control displayed in your installation and return to the summary. Check that the button now reads Edit Base Video and Add Question is available.
Summary with Edit Base Video, Add Question and Evaluation Settings available in Interactive Questions.

Summary after adding the base video: editing the material and adding interactive questions.

The base video differs from the introduction video and a video added to a question prompt.

Mark the stopping point in the video

In Interactive Questions, click Add Question. In Video stop marker, play the base video and pause where you want to present the question.Check the position shown in Time location and use Add marker.
Video stop marker with player, Time location, Add marker and Question type list with four formats.

Interaction: video stopping position and question type selection.

The value 4.67 shown in the field belongs to the example. Choose the position according to your video content and check that the necessary information has already been presented. This marker defines a stop for a question; its purpose differs from simply adding a video to the prompt.

Choose the type and prepare the prompt

In Question type, select the appropriate format.Complete Question Title with a clear question or instruction. Add Topic, Text, Video and Image as needed.
Question area with Question Title, Upload and Record, prompt video, Display video only once and content options.

Prompt: title, question video and content blocks.

The question video supplements the prompt. It does not replace the base video or define the stopping point. If you use Display video only once in this block, check this restriction separately from the one configured for the base video.

Enter the answers and answer key

Complete the fields for the selected type. Review the answer key and scoring before finishing the question. The example below uses True/False. It shows Evenly distribute or Manual distribution, optional text, an answer video, True/False selection and an item percentage.
Answers section with equal or manual distribution, a True/False card, optional text, video, True or False selection and Percentage of this answer.

Answer example: scoring distribution and True/False answer key.

Use Add new answer when you need another item and check each card’s answer key.
Another True/False card with optional text and video, answer key, percentage, Add feedback and Add new answer.

Additional items: answer key, percentage and answer and feedback controls.

The 30% values belong to the mockups. Do not copy them as a complete distribution: check the whole question and selected configuration. The answer key and scoring have different purposes. True/False classification defines the correct answer; the percentage defines the item’s contribution according to the distribution used. For other formats, follow their specific fields. Text drag preparation is detailed in the next section.

Add feedback and check the interaction

Use Add feedback, when available, to prepare an explanation related to the question and the base video section. For example: “Return to the information presented before this stop and notice how it relates to the selected answer.”Check the features offered by the form for the selected type.Review the stopping point, prompt, answers, answer key and scoring. Also check that the question can be answered using the information presented up to that point.

Finish the question and check the summary

Use Done to return to the summary and confirm that the question was added.Repeat the process for the other interaction points. Review the question sequence alongside the video sequence. If you edit or replace the base video, check all markers again: changes to the material may make their positions unsuitable.Finishing a question does not finish the entire activity. Review the full set and evaluation settings before completing setup.
Check the limit for each media field. The base video, prompt and answer examples indicate 100 MB. The IntSL Video label belongs to the illustrated installation: use the appropriate sign language for your audience.

Example: write the sentence and select the blanks

In Question type, choose Text drag. The form provides a creation guide. Complete the question title and Complete phrase with all words, including those that will be removed. Then, in Select words to make blank, click the words that should become answer spaces.
Form with title, content blocks, equal or manual distribution, Complete phrase and the words brown and jumps selected.

Complete sentence: scoring distribution and selection of words to turn into blanks.

In the example, the sentence is “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”. brown and jumps are selected as blanks. The text is in English in the mockup; prepare the sentence in the written language defined for your activity.

Configure options for each blank

Each selected word creates a blank card. In Word options, check the correct answer and add alternatives using Add another word option and the + button. The form instructions state that the original word is automatically marked correct. A green background identifies the correct option; clicking an option changes its marking. Review this state after any change.
Blank 1 card for brown, with brown in green, red and silver alternatives, a new-option field and 50%.

First blank: correct word, alternatives and answer percentage.

Blank 2 card for jumps, with jumps in green, bounce and twist alternatives, a new-option field and 50%.

Second blank: correct word, alternatives and answer percentage.

The example shows 50% for each of the two blanks. These values relate to the question’s composition, not the activity weight in the Space. Check equal or manual distribution and all blanks before finishing. Use the deletion controls to remove options or blanks when needed, then review the sentence and remaining answer key.

Review assessment and participation conditions

In the summary, open Evaluation Settings. Check the fields actually available for your installation and question types. The marker position is a point in the base video. It differs from the total time allowed for an attempt and the activity availability period. The supplied screenshots do not detail the evaluation settings form for this workflow. Check the values in your installation rather than copying the five-minute limit or score from the completion example.

Assess and support participants

Consult guidance on monitoring, assessment and releasing results.

Include self-assessment, if desired

In Questions Summary, the Self-assessment questions section has its own Add Question button. A possible question is “How would you assess your understanding of the information presented in the video and the relationships requested in the questions?” Configure the available form features and check the question in the self-assessment list when you return to the summary. These questions support reflection on learning. They differ from interactive questions associated with base video markers.

Check the participant experience

Check the full video and question sequence as the activity will be presented to participants. Verify that stops occur at the planned moments and prompts relate to the section available. The completion example shows a Text drag question with video, a sentence with blanks, a word bank and Next question.
Participant screen with video, two Drop here blanks, Word Bank, pause and finishing controls and Next question.

Completion: video, sentence with blanks and draggable word bank.

Participants use words from the bank to fill the spaces. Check that terms, blanks and correct answers match what was entered. The overall Multiple Choice label remains in this mockup, although the illustrated response uses text dragging. Follow the type configured for each question and check its presentation in your installation.
