For Supervisors In Drag and drop (Drag&Drop) activities, participants move text labels to the corresponding locations on an image. You prepare the question, upload the image, create the drop zones and name each zone to define the expected matches. This format can support identifying people, objects, places or parts of a scene. Relate the labels and positions to the learning objective and the material presented.

Reception is the activity type; Drag and drop (Drag&Drop) is the selected format. The screenshots are in English; the fields and buttons are explained throughout this page.

Understand the question elements

Uploading the image does not complete question preparation. You must create the zones and enter their names so participants can position the labels. For example, in a scene with different means of transport, you can create a zone over a bicycle and name it “Bicycle”. The task is to drag that label to the corresponding area. This is a teaching example. The screenshots show different scenes and names; they do not necessarily form a single question.

Create the activity

Choose Reception and Drag and drop

Enter the Space, open Assessment Activities and click Add activity.Check the selected Space, choose Reception and then Drag and drop (Drag&Drop). Review the selection before continuing. In the Description tab, enter the name and instructions. Explain what to examine and how to match labels to locations on the image. If you use an instruction video, prepare it in the appropriate sign language for your audience. Also check the activity status.

Open the summary and add a question

Select Questions Summary. Check the Reception and Drag&Drop labels. The Introduction video is optional and appears before the questions. Use it to introduce the activity context or explain the task.In Activity questions, click Add Question.

The add button in Self-assessment questions belongs to a separate set of questions.

Prepare the prompt and materials

Complete Question Title with a clear instruction.Add Topic, Text, Video and Image blocks as needed for the task. Use these materials to provide the information required to identify the elements.

Prompt: question title and content options.

A possible instruction is “Drag each name to the corresponding person in the image.” If the task relies on a sign language video, make the relationship between the video, written labels and scene clear. The image that receives the zones is entered in the dedicated Drag&Drop Image section, presented in the next step.

Upload the image that will receive the zones

In Drag&Drop Image, upload the image that will serve as the basis for the interaction.Check the thumbnail. Change image lets you replace the file.

Activity image: source file, zone mode and access to the editor.

The example indicates a 100 MB image limit. Check the limit and accepted formats in the field in your installation. In Drop zone mode, check the selected option. The screen shows Full match. Review the available options and marking behaviour before making the task available; the screenshot does not detail other modes or partial-credit rules.Click Create drop zones to open the image editor.

Select areas and create drop zones

In the editor, select the area of the image that should receive the label. Then confirm using Create drop zone or Create zone, depending on the screen.

Creating zones: select an image area and confirm its addition.

Repeat the process for the other elements. Create easily identifiable areas over the correct elements and avoid overlaps that make the destination ambiguous. The area selection defines where the label should be dropped. The name entered in the next step defines which text corresponds to that position.

Name the zones and check the matches

Complete each zone field with the name or phrase associated with the selected area.In the example, Zone 1 is named Martha and Zone 2 is named Pedro. The rectangles on the image identify the corresponding areas.

Matches: marked areas and names associated with each zone.

Check each zone name alongside its position. Use labels consistent with the task and required written language. The editor offers deletion controls. After removing a zone, review the remaining areas and names. If you replace the source image, check all matches again. On returning to the question form, check Drop zones created.

Checking: zone count and access to the editor.

The number 2 belongs to the example; create as many zones as the task requires.

Add feedback and finish the question

Use Add feedback when you want to include an explanation. The button appears below the zones section.Relate the feedback to the expected match. For example: “Look at the object shown in the scene and return to the part of the video describing it before positioning the label.”Check the text or media features offered by your installation’s form.Review the prompt, materials, image, zones and names. Click Done to return to the summary and confirm that the question appears in the list.Repeat the process to add further questions. Finishing a question does not finish the entire activity.

Review evaluation settings

In the summary, open Evaluation Settings. Adjust the available fields to the task and check the actual values in your installation. The drop zone mode, configured in the question, differs from overall scoring and activity participation conditions. Check these elements separately. The supplied screenshots do not detail the evaluation form for this format. Do not copy example deadlines, durations or attempt limits without reviewing the activity configuration.

Assess and support participants

See guidance on monitoring, assessment and releasing results.

Include self-assessment, if desired

In Questions Summary, the Self-assessment questions section has its own Add Question button. You can propose a reflection such as “How would you assess your understanding of the information needed to match the labels to the elements in the image?” Configure the features offered by the self-assessment form and check that the question appears in the list when you return to the summary. These questions support reflection on learning and differ from the matches entered for Drag and drop questions.

Check the participant experience

In the activity presentation, participants can view the deadline, time limit, attempts and number of questions, according to the configuration. The example also includes an introduction video and Start Activity. During the activity:
  1. Participants read the prompt and examine the materials.
  2. They identify the elements in the image.
  3. They drag labels to the corresponding zones.
  4. They use the available controls to navigate and finish the attempt.

Completing the activity: image, draggable labels and navigation.

The labels Piano, Float and Bicycle belong to the mockup. Review the text and matches in your own activity; the illustrative examples should not be treated as a ready-made answer key. Check the full task as presented to participants, ensuring that the areas and labels allow unambiguous matching. Result visibility should follow the configured review options.
