**For supervisors**

Assessment involves **preparing criteria**, **following responses** and **offering feedback**. Configure the activity for its learning objective and check when participants can view the assessment. This page starts with setup, then covers follow-up, reports and result release.

## Understand scales, criteria and weights

| Element | Purpose | Illustrative example |
| - | - | - |
| Scale | Defines the levels used to record performance. | A fluency scale with levels registered by the team. |
| Criteria | Define what aspects of the response will be observed. | Understanding the task, translation adequacy and fluency. |
| Criteria weights | Set each aspect’s contribution. | Understanding 40%, adequacy 40%, fluency 20%. |
| Question weights | Set each question’s contribution to the activity grade. | Two questions at 50% each. |
| Activity weight in the Space | Sets the contribution to the Space’s final grade. | Weight set in the activity overview. |

These examples clarify the settings. Choose criteria, scales and weights according to your teaching proposal.

## Configure activity assessment

After preparing questions, open **Evaluation Settings**. Depending on the screen, you can also access them through the activity’s **Settings**.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Select the scale" icon="ruler">
    Choose **Scale** to define how performance is recorded.

    Options can include **Default**, **Competent**, **Productivity**, **Self-evaluation (comprehension)**, **Fluency**, and team-created scales. All criteria use the **same selected scale**. Check that its levels suit every aspect you intend to assess.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Register criteria and distribute their weights" icon="list-check">
    Under **Criteria Set-up**, enter each criterion’s **Name**. Use **Add criteria** for further aspects. Choose clear names tied to the objective so participants understand what is observed.

    | Distribution | How it works | When to consider it |
    | - | - | - |
    | **Equal** | Shares weight equally across criteria. | All aspects have equal importance. |
    | **Manual** | You enter each weight; the total must be **100%**. | Some aspects should contribute more. |

    <Accordion title="Manual distribution" icon="percent">
      Select **Manual distribution** and set each **Weight**. For example: **40%, 40%, 20%**. Recheck the total after adding or deleting criteria. The trash icon removes a criterion.

  <Step title="Check question weights" icon="scale-balanced">
    Question weights are separate from criteria weights. Choose **equal** or **manual** distribution when available. Manual question weights must total **100%**.

    </Frame>

    The example has one question at **100%**. With more questions, review their contributions using enabled options.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set maximum grade, attempts and review" icon="sliders">
    Check the fields governing completion and assessment access.

    <Frame caption="Set maximum grade, attempts and review">
      <img src="https://mintcdn.com/levante-lab/Qsnso0wZIimmF0VG/images/supervisor-evaluation/200541.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=Qsnso0wZIimmF0VG&q=85&s=9c940c7f979328b34b52e323e6db45ce" alt="Set maximum grade, attempts and review" style={{ width: "100%", maxWidth: "680px", display: "block", margin: "0 auto", borderRadius: "12px" }} loading="lazy" width="605" height="463" data-path="images/supervisor-evaluation/200541.png" />
    </Frame>

    | Field | What to define |
    | - | - |
    | **Max grade** | Maximum grade indicated for the activity. |
    | **Attempts** | Number of allowed attempts, from the available list. |
    | **When time expires** | The action when the time limit is reached; inspect the options before choosing. |
    | **Review options** | When participants can access assessment information. |

    The example uses **Manual Release**, requiring the Supervisor to release results at the appropriate time.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set a completion time if needed" icon="clock">
    Enable **Time for completion** and enter **hours and minutes** if the task has a duration limit.

    <Frame caption="Set a completion time if needed">

    </Frame>

    Align it with the action when time expires. Also check the pause option in participation settings.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the final summary and dates" icon="calendar-days">
    Choose whether to **show the activity summary at the end**. It lists question titles and their **Answered** or **Unanswered** status.

    </Frame>

    Enable **Start date** and **Close date** to set the availability period. **Dates define the activity window; completion time defines duration.** The response summary is also different from grade and answer-key release.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review and finish" icon="check">
    Check that the scale suits the criteria, names are clear, criteria weights and question weights each total 100%, and grade, attempts, time and dates are consistent. Confirm review options match your intended release. Select **Done**.

      <img src="https://mintcdn.com/levante-lab/Qsnso0wZIimmF0VG/images/supervisor-evaluation/200604.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=Qsnso0wZIimmF0VG&q=85&s=a7bf62e627f44d8f28486a8bcfa9e1f2" alt="Review and finish" style={{ width: "100%", maxWidth: "100px", display: "block", margin: "0 auto", borderRadius: "12px" }} loading="lazy" width="83" height="57" data-path="images/supervisor-evaluation/200604.png" />
    </Frame>
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Prepare reusable scales

Under **Scales**, select **Add new scale**, enter a title and define levels. Then select it in relevant activities. Scales are reusable. Examples include **Default (0%–100%)**, **Competent**, **Productivity**, **Self-evaluation (comprehension)** and **Fluency**. Check the registered levels before using one in a new task.

## Set activity contributions in the Space

In **Activity overview**, define each activity’s weight and whether it counts towards the final grade. Activities marked **training only** do not generate a grade. This is different from the criteria and question weights within an activity.

## Follow responses and offer feedback

| Element | Purpose |
| - | - |
| **Reception** | Check automatic marking against the registered answer key. |
| **Production** | Assess submitted videos manually using the criteria and scale. |
| **Interaction** | Assess the interaction video manually according to the task and criteria. |

Offer **text or video feedback** according to settings. Connect it to the criteria, recognizing what participants demonstrate and what they can develop.

### Organize peer assessment

Under **Assessment partner**, choose a participant to assess a colleague in the same Space. Select **written/video feedback without a grade** or **criteria-based assessment with a grade**. Peer assessments appear in the corresponding report view and complement learning. The Supervisor remains responsible for the main assessment.

## Consult reports

| Element | Purpose |
| - | - |
| **Report table** | All participants’ activity grades and the class average. |
| **Main grade, Self-assessment and Peer assessment** | Different follow-up perspectives. |
| **Space report** | A participant’s results, weight, grade, scale and calculated weight. |
| **Detailed report** | Additional information about individual results. |

Use these views to follow individuals and the class as a whole.

## Release results

With **Manual Release**, participants cannot see grades or the answer key until release. After checking assessment, open this option and choose **Individual release** or **Release to all**.
