Start with the learning objective: **what should participants understand, produce or demonstrate?** Then prepare instructions, materials and assessment. ## Choose the type | Type | Participant’s work | Assessment | | - | - | - | | Reception | Comprehension questions. | Automatic, using registered correct answers. | | Production | An individual video response. | Manual, by the Supervisor using criteria and a scale; may include peer assessment. | | Interaction | Group work, live interaction and a video submission. | Manual, by the Supervisor from the submitted video. | The illustrated example uses **Production → Video recording**. Questions and assessment options vary by type. Screenshots retain their installation languages; instructions use English control names. ## Create the activity Enter the Space and select **Assessment activities**. Open assessment activities in the Space Select **Add activity**. Open assessment activities in the Space Check the Space and select **Continue**. Confirm the Space and choose the type Choose **Reception**, **Production** or **Interaction**. Confirm the Space and choose the type The example selects **Production → Video recording**. Check the highlighted option before continuing. Confirm the Space and choose the type Under **Description**, enter **Name of the activity**. Use an identifiable title. **Instructions** is optional but useful for the objective, expected submission, source material and assessment focus. Name the activity and explain the instructions When the video field is available, **Upload** or **Record** a video in the appropriate sign language to explain the context and task. Provide instructions in sign language This instruction video is separate from the introduction before the questions. Adjust the options to your teaching proposal. | Option | Consideration | | - | - | | **Pause activity** | When enabled, allows one pause, stopping the timer and blocking activity actions while paused. | | **Block right-click on videos** | Controls access to player options through right-click. | | **Show question weights** | Determines whether participants see each question’s weight. | | **Peer assessment** | Choose written/video feedback without a grade, or assessment using activity criteria with a grade. | | **Status** | Active or inactive. | Review participation options Select **Questions Summary** and check the activity type and response format. Open the question summary Enable **Introduction video** to upload or record an introduction displayed **before the questions**. Use it to contextualize the set of questions. Add an introduction video if needed Under **Activity questions**, select **Add Question**. Add the question and source material Write the prompt in **Question title**; the platform numbers it automatically. Use **Topic**, **Text**, **Video**, **Image** and **Link** blocks to organize the material needed for the response. Add the question and source material A topic introduces part of the proposal; other blocks provide text, videos, images and references. Keep the relation to the expected response clear. Combine content blocks Combine content blocks Check **Display video only once** when available. Enable it only if this restriction belongs to the task. In Production, **Example of ideal video** provides a reference for self-assessment. Choose an example aligned with the objective and criteria. It is separate from source material, instructions and introduction videos. Provide a self-assessment reference when appropriate Illustrated video fields show a **250 MB** limit. Check the limit in the field you use; it can vary by resource and installation. Review the prompt and materials, then select **Done** to return to the summary. Finish the question and continue to assessment Check the question in the list and open **Evaluation Settings**. Finish the question and continue to assessment **Completing a question is one stage of creation.** Review assessment and participation settings before making the activity available. ## Review assessment settings Available fields depend on the type. Align settings with the skills you intend to observe and explain the assessment to participants. | Type | Assessment | | - | - | | **Scale and points** | How performance is recorded and, where applicable, which criteria guide assessment. | | **Question weights** | Equal or manual distribution; manual weights must total **100%**. | | **Question and answer order** | Free or ordered navigation and randomization options. | | **Time and pause** | Duration limit and pause availability. | | **Review options** | What is visible during an attempt, after submission or by manual release. | | **Feedback** | Text and/or video feedback, according to the type and settings. | | **Status** | Active or inactive. | ## Adapt preparation to the selected type Prepare content and correct answers for automatic marking. Prompts can combine text, video and images. | Type | Participant’s work | | - | - | | **Multiple choice** | Text, image, video or mixed options, with one or more correct answers. | | **Multiple choice with images** | Image options. | | **True or false** | Statements with their correct answers. | | **Drag and drop** | Items, target areas and correct matches. | | **Short answer** | Expected words or expressions and their weights. | | **Matrix** | Correct row/column combinations. | Check alternatives, matches and scoring before releasing the activity. Define source material, recording options, criteria and scale. Configure peer assessment when it is part of the proposal. Participants record or upload a video and review it through **Self-assessment**. The Supervisor provides the main assessment and manually releases grades. Set the number of groups, maximum participants per group and, if needed, titled source material. Participants join groups, interact live and submit a video. After submission, the activity is complete and can no longer be edited. ## Before making it available * Check the activity type against the learning objective. * Review instructions, prompts and support materials. * Test videos, images and links. * Check correct answers or criteria and scale. * Review weights, time, pause, peer assessment and review options when available. * Confirm status and complete creation using the form controls.
