**For participants**

**Reception** activities let you understand and explore text, images and video. Some formats contain questions to answer; others provide information through interactive materials.

In quiz formats, marking follows the answers configured by the Supervisor. In informational formats, follow the instructions for exploring and completing the activity; opening content does not, by itself, mean answering a question.

## Explore Reception formats

The type selector includes questions, interactive materials and Random generation. The English names below match the illustrated interface.

## Illustrated example: Informational hotspot

A **hotspot** is an interactive point on an image. Selecting it opens information associated with that location. This example uses a map with numbered points and text, video and image content.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Check the introduction and begin">
    Read the instructions and watch the introductory video. Check details such as **Due**, **Time limit**, **Attempts** and **Set of Questions**, when available.

    Select **Start Activity** to begin. The values in the screenshot are examples, not rules for every activity.

    </Frame>
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  This is an **Informational hotspot** example. The screenshots demonstrate content exploration, but do not show a final submission or grade screen. Follow the controls and completion criteria presented in your activity.
</Note>

## View marking and answers

In formats with questions and automatic marking, this does not mean that the grade and answer key appear immediately. When **manual release** is configured, wait for the Supervisor to release them.
