# Explore assessment activities

**For participants**

Assessment activities let you demonstrate comprehension, produce video responses and interact in groups. The Supervisor defines their questions, criteria or scales.

## Choose an activity type

## Understand assessment

| Type | What you do | Marking |
| - | - | - |
| **Reception** | Answer comprehension questions. | Automatic, using the configured answer key. |
| **Production** | Record or upload your response. | Manual, by the Supervisor. |
| **Interaction** | Interact in a group and submit the video. | Manual, by the Supervisor. |

Random generation uses Reception activities. Each attempt presents content drawn from the library and receives its result.

## Before starting

Open the activity in your Space and read its instructions. Check the material, response format and conditions.

| Check | Why it matters |
| - | - |
| **Available time** | Some activities display a timer. |
| **Navigation** | Question order and the ability to return or skip depend on settings. |
| **Pause** | When enabled, it can be used once. |
| **Submission** | Check responses and files before completing. |
| **Results** | Grades and answer keys may require Supervisor release. |

## After completing

Follow your grades, attempts and feedback. Self-assessment and peer assessment may be part of the activity, depending on its type and settings.

<Note>Automatic marking and immediate display are different. With manual release, wait for the Supervisor to release the grade and answer key.</Note>
